A CHOICE WE MAKE

Postby pastor » Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:56 am

Greetings in the Lord!! Hi precious ones!! Our study deals with our choices and sometimes our choices lose us blessings! :( One of my resources comes from Charles Stanley.

"FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU,, SAYS THE LORD. THEY ARE PLANS FOR GOOD AND NOT FOR EVIL, TO GIVE YOU A FUTURE AND A HOPE. IN THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU PRAY, I WILL LISTEN, YOU WILL FIND ME WHEN YOU SEEK ME, IF YOU LOOK FOR ME IN EARNEST"...JEREMIAH 29:11-13 LIVING BIBLE

God didn't forget His people, even though they were captive in Babylon. He planned to give them a new beginning with a new purpose--to turn them into new people. In times of deep trouble precious ones, it may seem that God has forgotten us. But He may be preparing us, as He did the people of Judah, for a new beginning with God at the center.
None of us wants to miss the blessings the Lord has planned for us. If asked, we would say we want to receive every one of the gifts He desires to give us! However, because of the choices we make, we often give up blessings. :( Isarael wandered in the desert for 40 years because they chose not to enter the Promised Land. Though the Israelites were on the brink of tremendous blessing, the leaders forfeited the outpouring of God's goodness, not only for themselves but for the whole nation! (sometimes read Numbers chapters 13-14). Did you know precious ones, the Christian life is one of surrender and obedience, not independence and rebellion? It's true! To live such a life means we must bring our choices to the Lord and then be prepared to accept His answers. Remember, His way is always best because it comes out of the goodness of His character. To choose God's best also requires learning how to listen to Him. Too many times we present our requests and leave before giving God time to answer us. :( Sadly I'm guilty of that, how about you? Part of listening is expecting God to speak from His Spirit to ours. Though not usually audible, His communication can seem even louder than a voice. It seems obvious that we should remember to do what He says; however, if we do not write it down, most of us will forget. :( Keeping our focus on the Lord is also important--it takes practice to keep our eyes on His plan when circumstances clamor for our attendance. Many years ago I heard this old saying, "practice makes perfect". Sounds like good advice to me! :) Precious ones, having God's best starts with seeking God's way! Are there things you and I need to be talking over with Him? God bless!!! I love ya!!! your sis, nana, mommy, mamma, mami in Christ, pastor
